Paula Dagnall – Website Designer

Honestly wow it superseded my expectations and completely blew me away. She held my hand through the handover and assured me no question was ever too stupid. She came highly recommended to me and I thank the person that did. She’s awesome..!
If you are looking for a professional, reliable and friendly web designer, then look no further! I cannot recommend Paula, of Swindon Design Ltd more highly. She revamped and renewed my previous outdated website, which now looks amazing.
Both my husband and myself have used Paula’s services for our business websites for many years. Any request we have is never too much trouble. Paula is always available to discuss any changes we wish to make to our sites and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. I highly recommend using Swindon Design for all your website needs.”
Paula has done an amazing job and I would whole heartedly recommend her to anyone that wants “the complete cutting edge solution” from a dedicated person who has a passion for web design and development.

Meet Paula Dagnall

Paula began her career as a primary school teacher and believes this is key to building a good website; it is all about presenting information in simple but engaging way, so that even a child could find what they want.

She made the transition to web designer in 2000 after working for a small IT business in Marlborough and learned coding and started building websites with HTML and CSS.

Paula then became a self-employed freelance web designer in 2002, later moving to using WordPress as her platform of choice due to the flexibility and many great features, which includes giving the client the ability to take control of their site too.

Paula believes in working with clients so they deal with a real person who they can talk to, meet with, and get to know, and she likes helping to teach them to manage sites if they wish.

In her spare time she has many arty hobbies – including painting, photography, felt making and glass fusing – she has an eye for colour and design and loves getting crafty and making things!

Website FAQs

What do I need to provide you with so you can build me a website?

Small start-up businesses, which do not have a web presence, will need to provide a few paragraphs of text with a list of services or products, an idea for a domain name and a few photos (or ideas for photos). This would be the most basic way to start.

If you have been running your business for any length of time, then you probably have a lot more text you can provide which we can elaborate on; you may have photos of work you have carried out or projects completed and want to upscale you site with more content, more visuals or a more professional look.

Whatever you need, we can provide everything from the domain name, email accounts, text, branding, logo, social media accounts, video, brand photography, search engine strategy, marketing strategy… with your input of course.

How long does it take to build a website?

We can build a small, simple website in a day or two if we have all the text, images and a planned design. In reality, it takes a little more time to refine your site, so that it fits with your branding. We’ll need to try out different layouts for different pages, as well as make sure the pages are optimised for search engines, and that when you share a page it has a nice image with it. Quick isn’t always good when it comes to building websites; we take the time to build websites with good SEO , good user experience and great loading speed.

Why use WordPress to build a website?

WordPress is an open source platform with some amazing capabilities, in particular the ability for users to edit their website without digging into code. It has a really powerful CMS (content management system) to enable you to add pages and posts and manage the site yourself. It is also really easy to add extra features on to the website, with an huge choice of plugins. So if you decide you want to sell your wares online, or add a members’ section, you don’t need to start again from scratch.
